Benefits of Physiotherapy

You can access private physiotherapy in Lincoln and get support fast to help you recover, progress and feel able to manage and improve symptoms in a supportive and friendly clinic.

Understanding What Causes Your Symptoms

Whether it’s a new injury, an old ‘friend’ returned, an issue that’s never quite gone away or you’re post surgery – physio can help. We’ll run through a thorough assessment to drill down into what’s happening and how to get things progressing in the most effective way possible. We’ll find ways to help you to gain better movement, strength and function.

Specialised Care For Bladder, Pelvic & Muscle Health

Bladder leaks, feelings of bladder urgency and/or frequency, pelvic pain and discomfort during sex are common, but that doesn’t mean it’s something you need to put up with. Women’s health physiotherapy offers a chance to talk through what’s happening, understand your options and find an approach that feels right for you.

Feel Steadier & Move With Confidence

If you’re feeling unsteady on your feet, have noticed changes in your walking or posture, have a neurological condition or are experiencing falls, physiotherapy can help. Assessment can identify what factors are affecting your balance and mobility, with treatment focused on improving strength, movement and function.

Get Back to Doing What You Enjoy

When you’re in pain, it can be difficult to know whether to rest, exercise, seek treatment or simply give it time. Whether it’s a painful shoulder, a recurring knee problem or an injury that’s stopping you exercising, together we’ll look at what’s affecting you and find a way to build your movement, strength and confidence back up.

Physiotherapy can help with many other problems too. If you’re not sure whether physiotherapy is appropriate for your symptoms, please get in touch and we can talk it through.

We’ll chat about your symptoms, medical history, lifestyle and goals. I’ll carry out a detailed assessment to understand what’s contributing to your symptoms. Together, we’ll develop a personalised treatment plan which may include advice, exercises and a range of techniques supported by research.

You’ll leave with a clear understanding of what may be causing your symptoms, what can help improve them, what you can do between appointments and whether physiotherapy is the right approach for you.

Follow-up appointments are an opportunity to review how things have been going, check your progress and adjust your treatment plan where needed.

Your exercises and advice may change as you improve, and treatment can be adapted to suit how you are progressing. The aim is to make sure each appointment is useful and that you know what you can work on between sessions.

Everyone is different, so there isn’t a set number of sessions. It will depend on your symptoms, your goals and how you respond to treatment. Your progress will be reviewed throughout your treatment, and your plan will be adjusted as needed. The aim is to help you make progress and give you the knowledge and tools to manage your symptoms independently.

In most cases a doctor’s referral is not required for physiotherapy at our clinic, meaning you can make an appointment with us directly.

However, there are a few exceptions where a doctor’s referral might be necessary. For instance, if your health insurance provider requires a referral for coverage, or if you have a specific medical condition that needs a doctor’s clearance before undergoing physiotherapy – an example of this would be recovering from a recent fracture.

If you’re unsure whether you need a referral, feel free to contact us, and our team would be happy to assist you. Remember, our primary goal is to make your path to recovery as smooth and straightforward as possible.

For your physiotherapy sessions, it’s best to wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows for easy movement.

If you need to rearrange or cancel your appointment, please get in touch as soon as possible. Your booking confirmation will contain the relevant information about cancellation and rearrangement. Sometimes something unexpected happens, so I ask that any changes are please given with at least 24 hours notice.

As I work on a 1:1 basis, if you’re unable to give at least 24 hours notice, payment for the full appointment will be required as the appointment cannot be offered to someone else. Please do get in touch if you have any concerns or questions regarding this as I would like you to feel 100% comfortable about any booking you make.

“Lisa made me feel extremely comfortable and relaxed at my first appointment. She is really knowledgeable and provided me with instant relief. The aftercare provided is also brilliant. Will be booking future sessions.“
