Our Lincoln Indian head massage clinic is proudly located in the heart of Nettleham, a village just north of the city. Our clients are from a wide catchment area, including Lincoln itself, and a variety of other local villages.

Indian head massage can be carried out laying on your front on a thickly padded and heated (on cooler days) massage couch, with the massage applied over clothes or for those who feel comfortable, with your top removed. Clean, fluffy towels cover your body except for the area being treated and keep you warm throughout the treatment. Massage is also available over clothes, using a massage chair in a kneeling position (please request at time of booking).

If you are happy for it to be used, a high quality, light massage oil will be used that leaves skin soft and does not stain clothes when you get dressed once the treatment has finished. Only a tiny amount of oil is used when massaging the head and hair but this can be completed without the oil if preferred. It washes out easily and is wonderful as a light oil treatment to give hair a pamper too.

Techniques can be tailored to depending on what you would like to feel after the treatment. It can leave you feeling relaxed, in tune with your body, improve your sleep and relieve tension headaches or set you up for a day of focus and concentration feeling less stressed and quieting the mind. If you feel you hold stress and tension in your back, neck and shoulders this can help to reduce the feeling of being tight, fatigued and heavy, to feeling light, more supple and energised.

The duration of each session for Indian head massage varies depending on the treatment focus:

  • The 55-minute session primarily targets the head, neck, shoulders, and upper back, providing therapeutic relief in those areas.
  • The 70-minute session encompasses all of the areas of the standalone Indian head massage treatment in addition to the back of the legs to the tip of the toes, allowing for comprehensive relaxation of the areas of the body that we so commonly hold tension in.

For an Indian head massage session, it is best to wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows for easy movement. Since the focus of the massage is on the head, neck, and shoulders, you may choose to wear a top that exposes these areas for better accessibility. However, if you prefer more coverage, you can wear a lightweight, comfortable top that can be easily adjusted or removed as needed. It’s important to prioritise your comfort during the session to fully enjoy the relaxing benefits of Indian head massage.
